To Lose Weight or Not?

Doing a Google search has revealed that there are millions of people who are overweight and many want to lose weight either for health or cosmetic reasons.Some however are resigned to being fat as they feel that weight loss is hard to achieve.

Losing weight is not as easy as putting on weight. However most people want to lose weight fast.

Is there an easy way to lose weight? So long as you eat less than your daily calorie requirements, you will lose weight, but slowly. However, that will make you feel hungry most of the time.

Here’s one way to overcome that. Change your current eating habits. Instead of eating 3 main meals plus mid-morning snacks and afternoon teas, you should eat 6 small meals a day. Spread those meals throughout the day so that you will not feel hungry.

Breakfast is the most important meal but that doesn’t mean that you can load up. Eat enough to feel almost full and this will keep your metabolism fired up and keep burning calories all day long.

Include regular exercise such as brisk walking or swimming or cycling.

This will help you to lose weight. Try it out. I did and I’m maintaining the weight loss I achieved.

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

We went to see what the Singapore Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resorts looked like. The three hotels are completed but some buildings in its vicinity are still under construction. The Sky Park will be completed sometime in June this year. It promises to be a new experience where you can jog up there close to the clouds!


The Helix Bridge which leads to the Marina Bay Sands complex is an unusual structure with round platforms at intervals, leading outwards from the main bridge walkway where you can snap photographs.



There were many people walking to and fro along the bridge to see what the adjacent shopping complex and casino looked like. The Marina Bay Sands Shoppes isn’t fully tenanted yet but those that were already open are the branded stores. Chanel and Ferragamo are due to open soon. The Shoppes lead to an open area at the back where you get a good view of the Singapore skyline.



Foreigners (read tourists)are exempted from a S$100.00 levy which Singaporeans and permanent citizens have to fork out if they wish to enter the casino, whether to have a go at the tables or just to view the deco. Unfortunately I didn't carry our passports with me so we could not enter the casino. Anyway no photography is allowed in the casino as we found out when we were in the Venetian in Macao two months ago.
There is a hefty penalty if you're in the casinao and discovered to be below 21 years of age.




We took a few snaps and hurried back to where we had parked the car as rain drops were already coming down, the prelude to a terrible thunderstorm and heavy downpours.

I have never experienced such a terrifying thunderstorm before. The thunder claps were more like loud explosions and it was frightening. The rain was very heavy and eased only after a couple of hours into a steady drizzle. Mother Nature can be very ferocious and it must have an awful experience for those caught outside in the storm.

Let’s hope tomorrow will be a clear and beautiful day.

Romeo & Juliet at KLPac

It was an evening to remember.

The charity ballet performance of Romeo & Juliet by students of 2 ballet schools at the KLPac was well attended and the dancers enacted the tragedy ( adapted ) giving a very creditable performance. Expressions and emotions were conveyed convincingly.

No photography was permitted in the theatre so I leave it to you to imagine the colours of the lovely costumes and leaps and twirls of the dancers. The lead dancers were very good indeed and the choreography was excellent.

This was my first visit to this arts centre in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. It is set in serene surroundings away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We managed to find our way there despite the pouring rain. Fortunately it stopped and we were able to take a stroll in the compound.
There is a lake on which a pair of white ducks glided undisturbed.


Most of the young people these days have better endings to their love stories than the star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.
