Beaches and Sunsets

The Land Below the Wind refers to the state of Sabah at the apex of Borneo Island, famous for its beautiful beaches. We are below the wind so we escape the wrath of typhoons that seasonally batter our neighbours. Sometimes we feel the impact of the tail whereby very strong winds blow in from the sea bringing heavy rains. Black clouds darken the sky before the deluge.
Tg Aru Beach is serene in the mornings
and in the evenings, spectacular sunsets are the norm. It is most pleasant to sit watching the sun go down in all its splendour of fiery red and orange, signalling another hot day to come.
Darkness comes swiftly as the sun sinks below the horizon.
