Salzburg, Home of Mozart

Beautiful Salzburg was home to Mozart, the child prodigy who gave the world lovely music that is still played and appreciated today. I remember the violin and piano pieces composed by Mozart which I tried very hard to master in my school days.

We visited Mozart's home
and the Mozart Museum which are tourist attractions today.

This is a statue of Mozart, the famous composer.

We also visited the Mirabelle Gardens where newly-wed couples love to have their photographs taken.
This garden was also where some scenes from the movie "The Sound of Music" were shot.
There are also statues in the garden depicting stories from Greek mythology.
This is Pegasus, the flying horse, at the center of the fountain.
Just look at the enormous castle on the hill.
This is a narrow street with hanging decorative structures that advertise the nature of their business.
This is one of the buildings fronting a street
and this is a shop selling chocolates with Mozart as its brand.
Below are photos of some places in Salzburg but I've forgotten their names!!

Beautiful Bled, Slovenia

Bled is a town in north-western Slovenia. What makes it distinctive is the beautiful Lake Bled, a glacial lake in the Julian Alps surrounded by forests and mountains. The lake is 2120m long and 1380m wide with a maximum depth of 31 meters.
It is so scenic that one cannot be faulted for thinking that it is a piece of Heaven on Earth.

The lake is a beautiful blue and its serenity is such a strong magnet that you don't feel like moving on. I could have sat there and drunk in the beauty of my surroundings without paying heed to time.

In the middle of the huge lake is a small island on which rests an ancient church. This island is an attraction for lovebirds.

On the other side of the lake on top of a steep cliff sits a medieval castle. This castle gives you wonderful vistas of the surrounding countryside.
The castle is a tourist attraction. Within its walls is a restaurant where you can dine and wine high above the lovely lake.
Or you can simply enjoy the panaromic views of the town and the lake.
